Anthology was founded more than three decades ago when Asian Books, a seller of fine and scholarly books on Asia and the Islamic world, became the first Harvard Square bookstore to computerize its operations. In 1989, Anthology Inc. was organized to provide booksellers with a powerful, easy-to-use, and inexpensive bookstore management system. Founder Pei-shan VanZoeren, a software designer and bookseller with over 20 years of experience, introduced Anthology at the 1990 American Booksellers Association convention to an enthusiastic bookseller community.
Since that time, Anthology has grown and developed into the preeminent inventory control system in the bookselling world. Retailers like toy and gift sellers have also discovered the functionality and intuitive nature of Anthology and recognize its versatility in meeting the inventory control needs of their stores.
Headquartered in the scenic resort town of Traverse City, Michigan, Anthology is a mature, growing team of bookselling and computer professionals whose vision is to empower booksellers by creating powerful, easy-to-use, and affordable inventory control solutions.
